Sad goodbye

i just ate 4 or 5 processed nuggets that you pop in the oven for 6 minutes.

And I don’t care

Because

In an hour I have to put my cat to sleep.

First time doing this to any of my pets.

I’m trying to keep my composure.

Most amazing thing I’ve seen. Saw it a few months ago when it aired and I was teary eyed.
Animals are sooo beautiful and a heavenly sent gift.
Hence why I’ve worked with them for years at the hospital and volunteered at animal shelters.
Oh how I miss working at the veterinary hospital. But, I’m still a veterinary technician on a longggg longggg vacation.

Why hello!

I’ve been Mia. Between just being busy, running errands, and taking care of Dan( he’s got strep throat), I’ve been very tired and yes, still going to the gym except for today. I think Dan gave me strep throat, great, unless I am catching a cold. Been sneezing a lot, coughing, and throat hurts more at night.

Lock, our oldest cat, is sick. At 4am Dan woke me up by the light turning on, lock had been throwing up and taking a poopie on the wooden floor and his left eye appears to be infected. Our poor old man. We get his blood results tomorrow, I hope it’s good news but, he’s a diabetic already….. Glucose was 438 today. Sigh :-(

Today, I was scheduled for a 3 mile run, but it’s pouring now and plus, I don’t feel well I even skipped the gym.

Indefinitely have to make it my business to run every single day OUTSIDE and not on a treadmill. My breathing is much more difficult running outside. Maybe because of mother natures elements? Anyhow, I need to keep my inhaler close to me.

I also had an argument with a Miss Know It All. I am sure we all know people like that. she basically tried to trash talk runners and triathletes. This is coming from a gal who has NO training and not physically fit, or does not go to the gym. The nerve.

I ordered the fuel belt from the h20 collection and GU Gel. Should be arriving on Monday!
Also, went to footlocker yesterday to try on and possibly buy the Nike Lunaracer + 2 but they didn’t have it.

So I went online and saw and read many reviews on Newtons. Good pick?
It is suppose to make you feel like you are running barefoot plus not so much on your heel. Does anyone have a pair?

So, thee above monster is what we will be picking up today in Philadelphia today after I finish running my errands.
We don’t have a name yet, but this time I think I want to name him since Dan named Umi, the Egyptian Mau that we have also. This will be number 7 to our family. Well, technically, our family is a party of 9:
Dan 29
Me 25
Lock 10
Mischa 5
Dobby 2
Rocket 1 and a half
Umi 1 and a half
Doh-pe 1
Un named 3 months old

Wew. We are excited! Not excited to spend the amount of money on him, but eh. He is a Cornish Rex kitten.

Being a veterinary technician and having freedom

Ugh thinking about it, at times I miss being a veterinary technician. I mean after like 4 years in the field and just being around dogs, cats, rabbits, hawks, owls, etc all day, I miss it.
I hAve 6 great cats of my own, but I miss surgery and taking care of the sick furry ones.
One thing I don’t miss is being stressed out all the time and throughout my shift. Goodness.
Stress wasn’t even the word.
Too bad the field pays SHIT, and you bust your ass. I am tired of people saying, “oh it’s not about the money, it’s about loving your job.”
oh please! When you are getting paid 9 dollars or 10 an hour to do the amount of work you do, and to pay bills such as rent, car, gas, food, insurance, etc, that hourly rate means a lot.
I worked in speciality and general practice and believe me, they both paid sucky amounts.
I got by, but barely meaning I was late on everything! And stressed.

So in the end, I miss the animals and surgery, but I don’t miss the stress and pay and having no freedom and working a 9-5, 10-7, and 7am-8pm shift.
I rather make 20 something an hour, salary, and have freedom, run, have time, not as stressed, and play sports :) oh and being able to spend money, and have food in the fridge is always freaking nice.

I wonder what life has in store for us all… Well, me. :-p
